lh Miles & More vs CX Marco Polo Club

Luftansa FFP Miles & More
* can be exchanged for flight, upgrade, travel, experience or other awards.
* remain valid for 36 months after the date they were earned, expiring at the end of the quarter concerned.
* remain valid indefinitely for Frequent Travellers, Senators and
HON Circle members for as long as they retain such status.
* remain valid indefinitely for holders of a Lufthansa Miles & More Credit Card issued in Germany.

Advantages: good flights/awards ratio, excellent frequent flyer service
Disadvantages: some awards too "expensive",hard to attain gold status

Status miles

* are earned on Adria Airways, Air Dolomiti, Air One, Austrian Airlines Group, Cirrus Airlines, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Lufthansa Regional, Lufthansa Private Jet, SWISS and all Star Alliance member airlines.
* are automatically credited together with the same number of award miles for travel on these airlines.
* You'll become a Frequent Traveller with 35,000 miles, a Senator with 130,000 miles earned within a calender year. A status mileage level of 100,000 miles applies for members who are not German residents.

HON Circle miles

* are earned on Adria Airways, Air Dolomiti, Air One, Austrian Airlines Group, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Lufthansa Private Jet, Lufthansa Regional and SWISS.
* are collected on Air-Rail Trains in Germany. Please note that a maximum of 100,000 of these miles can be included in the 600,000 miles required to qualify for HON Circle status.
* count towards HON Circle status, for which a certain number must be earned within two consecutive calendar years.

Cathay Pacific airlines CX ffp Marco Polo Club

The Marco Polo Club has four tiers - Green, Silver, Gold and Diamond. Green tier is the entry level for The Marco Polo Club.
in CX Marco Polo you need 120k miles per year in order to renew your diamond status.
In short, Club Miles and Membership Year will be reset every time you get to a new year. You have to work your way through Silver and Gold to Diamond. The minimum total Club Miles to get to Diamond is 210K. When you attain Diamond, your membership year is reset and you have to get 120K in the new membership year to renew Diamond.
