Cathay Pacific customers can secure an Extra-legroom Seat on long-haul flights as well as flights to Mainland China and regional destinations. With an additional fee $100 for long haul or by redeeming Asia Miles 20,000,The Extra-legroom Seats are available to passengers who meet the exit row seat safety requirements.
Almost all of the airlines are charging extra for exit-row seats unless you are a premium member of their frequent flier program.the extra legroom seats on Cathay Pacific flights are only the exit rows and the bulkhead or front rows of each economy section, not a special premium economy section like many airlines have.. The exit rows have unlimited legroom and the bulkhead rows only have a few inches more legroom than a normal economy seat.
Members of the Cathay Pacific’s Marco Polo Club loyalty programme (Silver tier and above), who are already able to reserve the Extra-legroom Seats, will continue to enjoy the service free of charge. The seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
I will gladly pay the $100 - that is less than $8 per hour - on the LAX-HGK flight.
And about $1500 cheaper than buying a Business class seat! Exit row seats are worth it
