Booking your Star Alliance upgrade award is easy at www.miles-and-more.com/starupgrade

To find out how many miles you need for your upgrade, see the Star Alliance Upgrade Award Chart and the Assignment of countries to regions:Star Alliance Upgrade Award Chart
Upgrade awards can only be booked for the next highest class of service. The number of miles required to pay for the upgrade depends on the booking class of the ticket.

To book an upgrade award, you must first have booked and fully paid for a flight (with the exception of flight award tickets) through www.lufthansa.com or the Miles & More online platforms for which the ticket must have already been issued. In this way, all routes for which an upgrade is to be booked must be confirmed in advance in the number class. Upgrades can only be booked for confirmed routes and are subject to availability in Business or First Class. On a European domestic flight, an upgrade is only possible in conjunction with an intercontinental flight, and is included free of charge.
